Junk Removal Service in Bellingham

You show us what has to go. We carry it out, load it, and sweep the spot where it sat. Furniture and household goods that still have life in them go to donation, metal goes for recycling, and only what is left goes for disposal.

  • Free estimates, including from photos
  • We do all the lifting and loading
  • Usable items donated or recycled first

Junk pickup without the trailer, the dump run or the sore back

Most people who call us could haul the stuff themselves, in theory. In practice it means borrowing a truck, finding a friend with a free Saturday, working out what the transfer station takes and what it charges, then doing it twice because the first load did not fit. Then the old couch still has to come up the basement stairs.

Our junk removal service takes all of that off your hands. Two people, a truck and the tools to move heavy, awkward things without damaging your house. We work everywhere from the driveway to the attic: under the carport, in the back of the shop, behind the shed, up three flights of outdoor stairs on a South Hill lot.

There is no list of things you have to sort first. Leave it where it is. We separate the load as we go, set aside what can be donated, pull out metal and appliances for recycling, and take the rest for disposal. If something in the pile is hazardous, like an old can of paint or a propane tank, we leave it and tell you where it can go.

The price is set before we lift anything, based on how much of the truck the job fills. If it turns out smaller than we thought, the price goes down.

What a typical junk removal job looks like

  • A single big item

The recliner that will not fit in your car, a broken treadmill, an old piano bench, a dead freezer. One item is a perfectly normal job, and it is often the hardest one to move yourself.

  • A pile that grew

The corner of the garage that filled up after a move, the stack of boxes from a parent's house, the leftovers from a garage sale that never sold. Mixed loads are the bread and butter of junk hauling.

  • A full room or more

Spare rooms, basements, sheds and outbuildings that have not been cleared in years. We load the truck as full as it will go and come back for a second load if it takes one.

What every junk removal job includes

  • A price before we start

An estimate from photos or a quick look in person, confirmed on site before anything moves.

  • All the lifting and loading

You do not carry anything. Point at it and it goes.

  • Sorting for reuse and recycling

Usable items set aside for donation and metal pulled out for recycling before the rest goes for disposal.

  • A swept space when we leave

The floor, driveway or patio where the junk sat is swept clean before the truck pulls away.

How a junk removal job goes

  1. Send photos or call

Tell us what is going and where it sits. A wide shot of the pile and one of the path out is usually enough.

  2. Get your estimate

We tell you roughly how much of the truck the job fills and what that costs.

  3. Book a time

Pick an arrival window that works. We call when the crew is on the way.

  4. Confirm on site

We look at the load, confirm the price, and point out anything we cannot take.

  5. Lift, load and sort

Floors and doorways are protected, everything is carried out, and the load is sorted for donation, recycling and disposal.

  6. Sweep and go

The space is swept, you look it over, and we head out.

Why people call us instead of renting a trailer

  • The carry is the hard part, and it is ours

Bellingham houses are not built for moving big things. Narrow stairs in older homes in Fairhaven and York, steep driveways, long outdoor steps on hillside lots. We bring the dollies, straps and an extra set of hands every time.

  • A price you know in advance

You hear the cost before we start, and it is based on what you actually have, not a guess padded for safety.

  • Less of it ends up in the ground

Junk hauling done properly means sorting. Furniture that is still sound and household goods that still work go to donation where they can be used. Metal goes for recycling. Disposal comes last.

Junk removal questions

What does junk removal do?

A junk removal service sends a crew and a truck to take away things you no longer want. The crew does the lifting and loading from wherever the items are, inside or out, then sorts the load so usable things are donated, recyclable material is recycled and the rest is taken for disposal. You do not need to carry anything to the curb or drive anywhere.

What items will junk removal services not take?

Hazardous waste is the main exclusion: paint, solvents, chemicals, pesticides, fuel, oil, propane tanks, car batteries, asbestos, and medical or biohazardous waste. These need special handling and have their own drop off rules. We tell you before the job if anything in your load falls into that group. Our guide to what junk removal will not take explains where each one goes.

What is the minimum price for junk removal?

Most junk haulers charge a minimum for a single item or a very small load, because the truck, the crew and the drive cost about the same either way.

We will tell you the exact minimum when you send us your photos.

Is it cheaper to rent a dumpster or hire a junk removal company?

It depends on the job. A dumpster can make sense for a long remodel where debris comes out slowly over weeks and you have room for it on the driveway. For a cleanout or a set of heavy items, hiring a crew is often comparable or cheaper once you count your own time, the labor of loading it, and the permit or space a dumpster needs. A junk removal crew also does the carrying and sorting. Our junk removal cost guide compares the two.

What's the cheapest way to remove junk?

For a few usable items, giving them away or donating them is the cheapest route if you can move them yourself. For a small load and a truck of your own, a trip to the transfer station costs only the disposal fee. Hiring a hauler costs more than doing it yourself, but it includes the labor, the truck and the sorting, which is why most people call once the load gets heavy or big.

How to get rid of items for free?

Items that still work can often be given away through neighbors, community groups and online listings, and some charities pick up furniture in good condition. Broken items, mixed junk and anything heavy usually cost something to get rid of, either in disposal fees or hauling.
