Most people call us when a deadline is close

Nobody plans to spend a Saturday wrestling a sleeper sofa up basement stairs. People call us because something has to be empty by a date. The house closes at the end of the month. The tenant left in June and the next one moves in July. A parent has moved into care and the family flies home on Sunday. Or the garage simply filled up one box at a time until the car stopped fitting.

What those jobs need is not complicated, but it is easy to do badly. Furniture gets dragged and the door frame gets gouged. Everything goes straight to the transfer station, including the dining set a neighbour would have taken. The quote doubles once the truck is in the driveway. We started this business to do the opposite: give a straight price up front, carry things out carefully, and sort the load before it goes anywhere.

Whatcom County makes the carrying harder than most places. Bellingham's older neighbourhoods are full of narrow basement stairs and long exterior steps up from the street. Hillside lots around Lake Whatcom and Chuckanut mean the truck often parks well below the house. Rural properties in Lynden, Ferndale and Everson have shops and barns holding a lifetime of equipment and lumber. We plan for all of that before we arrive, so the estimate you get is the price you pay unless what is there changes.

How we work

  • A price before we load

You get an estimate from photos or a walk-through, and we confirm it on site before anything goes on the truck. If the amount turns out different, we tell you first.

  • Careful on the way out

Doors, floors, railings and walls get protected where heavy things pass. We take furniture apart when that is safer than forcing it through a doorway.

  • Sort before we dump

Usable furniture, tools and household goods go to donation or resale where they will be accepted. Metal, appliances and electronics go to recycling where we can. What is left goes to disposal.

  • Say no when we should

We do not haul hazardous waste such as paint, solvents, chemicals, fuel, propane tanks or asbestos, or biohazard and medical waste. We do not rent dumpsters or move households. When a job needs one of those, we tell you on the first call, and point you to the right kind of service.
